Apple Cake With Apple Sauce
|Flour||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Baking powder||2 Teaspoon|
|Butter||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|For apple sauce|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Sieve flour and baking powder together.
Peel and cut apples into circles.
Remove the seeds.
Boil with 2 tbsp of water and cook on low heat till tender.
Sprinkle 2 tbsp sugar.
Cook again for 5 minutes.
Mash half with fork.
Beat sugar, butter and eggs till creamy in a lage mixing bowl.
Add half of the flour and mashed apple to egg mixture.
Beat well for 5 - 7 minutes.
Add remaining flour and beat vigorously till light in texture.
Grease a cake tin.
Pour the batter.
Bake in preheated oven at 180° for 5 minutes.
Arrange the remaining apple slices over it and bake for 35-40 minutes at 160°C.
Insert knife in the centre.
If comes out clean, the cake is ready or bake for another 10 minutes.
Cool and remove from the tin.
To make apple sauce, peel and cut apple into pieces.
Blend in mixi to make paste.
Heat butter in a sauce pan.
Add corn flour and cook for 2-3 minutes on low heat.
Add milk and sugar and cook stirring vigorously.
Add apple paste and beat well.
Pour this apple sauce over and around cake and serve.
