|Flour||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs), sifted|
|Yellow corn meal||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Baking soda||3⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Eggs||2 , well beaten|
|Sour milk/Buttermilk||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
|Shortening/Butter / margarine, melted||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
1. Start oven, set at Hot, 400° F. Grease an 8-inch square baking pan.
2. Mix and sift the dry ingredients.
3. Combine the beaten eggs and milk and add to the dry ingredients, stirring until well mixed; stir in the cooled shortening, butter or margarine.
4. Pour into the greased baking pan. Bake about 40 minutes.
