Whole Wheat Honey Cake
|Whole wheat pastry flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Baking powder||2 Teaspoon|
|Baking soda||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Cinnamon||2 Teaspoon, ground|
|Cloves||1⁄4 Teaspoon, ground|
|Orange rind||1 Teaspoon, grated|
|Vegetable oil||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Honey||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Milk||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Grease and flour a baking pan.
Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and cloves into a large mixing bowl. Stir in orange rind.
Combine vegetable oil, honey and milk in a small bowl. Add to dry ingredients, beating until smooth.
Turn batter into pan. Bake for 20 to 30 minutes.
Place cake pan on a wire rack and let cool for 10 minutes. With a small flat spatula, carefully loosen sides of cake. Invert on the wire rack and remove pan. Let cool; frost, if desired.
