Crumb and Nut Cake
|Nuts||1 Cup (16 tbs), finely chopped|
|Shortening||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Vanilla extract||2 Teaspoon|
|Fine graham cracker crumbs||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Nuts||1 Cup (16 tbs), finley chopped|
|Baking powder||3 Teaspoon|
|Milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
1. Preheat oven to moderate (350° F.).
2. Blend the shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Combine the crumbs, nuts and baking powder and add to the shortening mixture alternately with the milk. Pour into three greased eight-inch layer cake pans one and one-fourth inches deep.
3. Bake thirty to thirty-five minutes. Turn out on a rack to cool. Put the layers together with chocolate cream frosting.
