|Butter||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Sugar||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Flour||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Baking powder||3 Teaspoon|
|Buttermilk||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Water||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs one at a time, beating thoroughly as each egg is added.
Add dry ingredients, sifted together alternately with the buttermilk and water which have been mixed together.
Add vanilla and beat well.
Pour batter into three round or square pans that have been greased and floured and lined with wax paper.
Bake in 375° oven for about 20 minutes.
