Spicy Coffee Cake
|Butter||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sugar||1 1⁄3 Cup (21.33 tbs)|
|Eggs||2 , beaten|
|Sour cream||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Flour||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Nuts||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped|
Cream the butter in a bowl, then beat in 1 cup sugar gradually.
Add the eggs and mix well.
Mix the soda and sour cream and stir into butter mixture.
Sift the flour, salt and baking powder together and add to sour cream mixture gradually.
Add vanilla and mix well.
Mix the nuts, remaining sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle 2 tablespoons in a greased and floured tube pan.
Add half the batter.
Sprinkle with remaining nut mixture and pour remaining batter on top.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
Invert onto a plate and remove pan.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
