Sour Cream Spice Cake

Ingredients
  Brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs), firmly packed
  Egg 1 Large
  Sour cream 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  All purpose flour 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Raisins 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Cream of tartar 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Baking soda 1 Teaspoon
  Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
  Nutmeg 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Cloves 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
Directions

In a large mixing bowl, beat together sugar and egg.
Mix in sour cream.
Stir in flour, then add raisins, cream of tartar, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt, and mix well.
Spread batter evenly in a greased 9-inch-square pan.
Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 35 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in centre of cake comes out clean.
Remove from oven and let cool.
This cake is good sprinkled with icing sugar.
