|Powdered sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), sifted|
|Cake flour||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), sifted|
1. Beat egg whites until stiff, gradually adding sugar.
2. In a separate bowl, beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored. Fold into whites. Fold in sifted flour and salt. Add vanilla.
3. Cover a baking sheet with ungreased heavy paper. With a pastry bag and plain-hole tube, shape into fingers that measure about 1 x 4 1/2 inches. Sprinkle with additional powdered sugar.
4. Bake at 350°F for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from paper with a long spatula.
