|Water||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Hominy grits/Cornmeal||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Shredded processed american cheese||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Garlic salt||1⁄8 Teaspoon|
Boil water, salt and garlic salt in a saucepan.
Slowly add grits or cornmeal, stirring constantly.
Cook about 5 minutes, stirring constantly, until mixture is very thick.
Add cheese; stir until melted.
Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls on an ungreased baking sheet.
Spoonfuls of mixture can be stored on baking sheet in refrigerator overnight.
Preheat oven to 400F (205C).
Using your hands, shape each spoonful of dough into a ball; flatten between palms.
Return to baking sheet.
Bake 10 minutes.
