  Currants 1 3⁄4 Pound
  Crystallized cherries/Glace cherries 1 Pound
  Shredded mixed peels 1 Pound
  Rum/Brandy / sherry 2⁄3 Pint (2 1/2 Gills)
  Butter 1 1⁄2 Pound
  Light brown sugar 1 1⁄2 Pound
  Grated lemon rind 3 Teaspoon
  Grated orange rind 3 Teaspoon
  Almond essence 1 Teaspoon
  Vanilla 3 Teaspoon
  Marmalade 6 Tablespoon
  Caramel 1 Tablespoon
  Eggs 12
  Plain flour 30 Ounce
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Spice 3 Teaspoon
  Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
  Nutmeg 1 Teaspoon
Directions

Fill mixture into round or square 12 in.cake tin lined with one thickness white paper and two thicknesses brown paper.
Bake in slow oven, Mark 1, 275°F., about 6 to 6 1/2 hours
