Shortcake With Strawberries
|Flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Baking powder||2 Teaspoon|
|Butter||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs), cut in to chunks|
|Milk||7⁄8 Cup (14 tbs)|
Preheat the oven at 450 degreesF.Mix all the dry ingredients together to make a stiff mixture,use your fingertips to do it.Add milk to this & make a dough(soft).Roll out this dough on a floured board,make a flat pastry base but not to thick not too thin.Cut it into squares(around 3 inch or the size that you want) or you can also cut it out in circles for the shortcakes.Bake this in the preheated oven till the shortcakes are very light brown in color.Baking the shortcake also depend on the size of the dough that you have cut out.If the piece that you have cut out is very small,it won't take more than 10 mintues to bake.But you have to keep an eye on it so that they are not overdone.
Once done,remove from the oven & cool on wire rack.As soon as it starts to cool off cut into halves.
Serve with creme filling of whipped cream,topped with fresh strawberries,strawberry sauce.
