Chocolate Glaze Cake
|Unsweetened chocolate||2 Ounce (2 Squares)|
|Hot strong coffee||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs) (Adjust Quantity As Needed)|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Cooking oil||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs) (Salad)|
|Sifted all purpose flour||1 1⁄3 Cup (21.33 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Cream filling||1 Cup (16 tbs) (Adjust Quantity As Needed)|
|Ripe banana||1 Large|
|Chocolate glaze||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Walnut halves||2 Tablespoon|
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease generously and flour one 9-inch round layer cake pan at least 1 1/2 inches deep.
Put chocolate in measuring cup and add hot coffee to make 1 cup liquid.
Let stand until chocolate is soft, stir and cool to lukewarm.
Beat egg in small mixing bowl until light.
Add sugar, oil and vanilla and beat well.
Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt together and add to egg mixture alternately with chocolate mixture, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
Pour into prepared pan and bake about 30 minutes or until top springs back when touched lightly in the centre.
Turn out on cake rack and cool.
Split crosswise into 2 layers shortly before serving time.
Put bottom of cake on serving plate and spread with cooled Cream Filling.
Put thin slices of banana on top of filling, saving a few slices to garnish top.
Put top on cake and pour Chocolate Glaze over.
Garnish with banana slices and walnut halves.
Chill a few minutes.
Cut in wedges to serve.
