Basic Molasses Cake

  Sifted regular all purpose flour 3 Cup (48 tbs)
  Soda 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Cinnamon 1 Tablespoon
  Ground cloves 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Nutmeg 1 Teaspoon
  Soft butter/Margarine 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Eggs 3
  Molasses 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  All bran/Bran buds 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Buttermilk 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)

1. Sift together flour, soda, salt and spices. Set aside.
2. Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs; beat well. Stir in molasses and All-Bran.
3. Stir in dry ingredients in thirds alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Spread evenly in greased 10-inch tube pan.
4. Bake in slow oven (325° F.) about 1 hour and 25 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool on wire rack. Serve.
