Fruit Cake Bars
|Packed brown sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Water||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
|Shortening||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Raisins||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Flour||2 Cup (32 tbs) (Gold Medal)|
|Baking powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Chopped nuts||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Heat oven to 350°
Mix first four ingredients in saucepan and bring to a boil; remove from heat and cool.
Measure flour by dipping method or by sifting.
Blend dry ingredients; stir into cooled mixture.
Mix in nuts.
Spread dough evenly in greased pan (s).
