Picnic Chocolate Cake
|All purpose flour||2 Cup (32 tbs), sifted|
|Brown sugar||2 Cup (32 tbs), packed|
|Shortening||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Buttermilk/Sour milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Unsweetened chocolate square||2 Ounce, melted|
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease and flour a 13 x 9 1/2 x 2-inch oblong pan.
Sift dry ingredients into bowl.
Add sugar and shortening, then milk and vanilla.
Beat 2 minutes at medium speed on mixer, or 300 strokes by hand.
Add eggs and chocolate and beat 2 minutes more.
Pour into prepared pan and bake 40 to 45 minutes.
Cool in pan.
Frost with Choc-O-Nut Frosting.
