|Boiling water||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Oleo||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Brown sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Granulated sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Flour||2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)|
|Baking soda||1 Teaspoon|
|Brown sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Milk||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), canned|
|Coconut||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Nuts||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Batter: Pour boiling water over oatmeal and let stand 20 min.
Cream oleo, brown sugar and granulated sugar together.
Add eggs and oatmeal mixture.
Mix in flour, baking soda, salt and vanilla.
Bake at 350° for 40 min.
Topping: Mix all ingredients together — do not cook.
When cake is finished, spread topping over cake evenly.
Place cake in broiler 3 — 6 min or until coconut is browned.
