Pecan Topped Pineapple Upside Down Cake

Ingredients
  White cake mix/Yellow cake mix 9 Ounce (1 Package)
  Butter/Margarine 2 Tablespoon
  Firmly packed brown sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Canned pineapple slices 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), drained
  Maraschino cherries 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), drained
Directions

Prepare cake batter according to package directions; set aside in mixing bowl.
Melt butter in a 9-inch pan.
Add brown sugar and stir until mixture is syrupy.
Make a layer of pineapple slices, centering each with a maraschino cherry.
