Walnut Coffee Cake Sticks
|Butter/Margarine||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs), softened|
|Brown sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Milk/Light cream||1 Tablespoon|
|Sandwich loaf||1 (Unsliced, 11 Inches Long)|
|Chopped california walnuts||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
Cream together butter, sugar, milk, and cinnamon till light and fluffy.
Trim all crusts from bread; then cut loaf crosswise in 3 equal, large cubes.
Cut each cube in thirds, then in thirds again in the opposite direction, making 9 sticks per cube.
Spread butter mixture on all surfaces except bottom.
Roll in nuts.
Bake on baking sheet in moderate oven (375°) for about 15 minutes or till crispy.
