Almond Tea Cakes
|Lemon juice||2 Teaspoon|
|Milk||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|All purpose flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Baking soda||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Butter||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Almond extract||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Ground cinnamon||1⁄4 Teaspoon (or nutmeg)|
Stir lemon juice into milk.
Stir together flour, baking powder, soda, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
Beat margarine or butter for 30 seconds.
Add 3/4 cup sugar, beating till fluffy.
Add egg and extract; beat well.
Add dry ingredients and milk alternately to beaten mixture; beat well after each addition.
Drop from a teaspoon 2 inches apart onto an un-greased cookie sheet.
Combine 2 tablespoons sugar and spice; sprinkle cookies with mixture.
Bake in a 350° oven for 12 to 14 minutes or till edges are golden.
Immediately transfer to a wire rack.
