|Ground ginger||2 Teaspoon|
|Ground nutmeg||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Milk||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Pre-heat the oven to 325°F and lightly grease and flour an 8 inch cake pan.
Cream the butter and sugar together in a large mixing bowl.
Add the egg a little at a time, beating between each addition.
Mix all the dry ingredients together and add them to the butter mixture.
Gradually add the milk, stirring to make a smooth batter.
Warm the molasses slightly and then beat it into the batter.
Transfer the batter to the cake pan and bake for 40-45 minutes.
