Quick Coffee Cake
|All purpose flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Active dry yeast||1|
|Milk||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Slivered almonds||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
In large mixer bowl combine 7 cup of the flour and the yeast.
Heat milk, 6 tablespoons butter, 4 tablespoons of the sugar, and Vi teaspoon salt till warm (115-120°).
Add to dry mixture; add egg.
Beat at low speed with mixer for 1/4 minute, scraping bowl.
Beat 3 minutes at high speed.
By hand, stir in enough remaining flour to make a soft dough.
Turn into a greased 8x1 1/2-or 9x1 1/2 inch round baking pan.
Sprinkle with nuts and 1 tablespoon sugar.
Cover; let rise till almost double (about 1 hour).
Dot with butter.
Bake at 375° for 18 to 20 minutes.
