Apple Raisin Cake

  Butter/Margarine 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Sugar 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Eggs 2
  Sifted all purpose flour 2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)
  Soda 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Ground cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
  Ground nutmeg 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Ground allspice 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Canned applesauce 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Raisins 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Chopped pecans 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Orange butter frosting 1 Cup (16 tbs) (adjust quantity as needed)

Cream butter and sugar till fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
Sift together dry ingredients.
Add alternately to creamed mixture with applesauce.
Stir in raisins and nuts.
Turn batter into greased and lightly floured 13x9x2-inch baking pan.
Bake in moderate oven (350°) about 45 minutes or till done.
Cool in pan.
Frost with Orange Butter Frosting: Cream 6 tablespoons butter or margarine with 1 tea spoon grated orange peel and dash salt.
Beat in 3 cups sifted confectioners' sugar and enough orange juice (about 3 tablespoons) to make of spreading consistency.
