Upside Down Sugar And Spice Cake
|Margarine/Butter||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Packed brown sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Apple||1 Medium, cored and cut into thin slices|
|Finely chopped pecans||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Spice cake mix||18 1⁄4 Ounce (1 Package, 1 Layer Size)|
Place margarine or butter in an 8x1 1/2-inch round baking dish or pan.
Place the baking dish in a 350° oven for 3 to 4 minutes or till margarine or butter is melted.
Remove from the oven.
Stir in sugar till dissolved.
Arrange apple slices in a circle in the bottom of the prepared dish.
Sprinkle with pecans.
Prepare cake mix according to package directions.
Carefully pour cake batter over apples and nuts in the baking dish or pan.
Bake in a 350° oven for 25 to 30 minutes or till cake tests done when a wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool for 5 minutes on a wire rack.
To remove cake, loosen sides from the dish.
