Old Fashioned Crumb Cake
|Sugar||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Shortening||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Milk||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Flour||3 1⁄2 Cup (56 tbs)|
|Baking powder||2 Tablespoon|
Mix thoroughly the dry ingredients and shortening.
Break the eggs into a cup and beat them, filling the cup with milk.
Take out 1/2 cup of the dry mixture, stirring the beaten milk and egg into the remainder of the mixture.
Put into cake tins or biscuit pans, sprinkle with dry mixture and bake.
This cake is often served with coffee.
