Marmalade Upside Down Cake
|Butter/Margarine||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Brown sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Walnut halves||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Pitted dates||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), halved|
|Chopped walnuts||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Sliced pitted dates||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Orange juice||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Yellow cake mix||16 Ounce (1 Package Loaf-Size)|
|Grated orange peel||2 Teaspoon|
Melt butter in a 9xl 1/2-inch round pan.
Blend in sugar, spreading mixture evenly over bottom.
Arrange walnut and date halves in center; sprinkle chopped nuts and sliced dates around edge.
Pour juice over all.
Prepare cake mix according to package directions; stir in orange peel.
Spoon over date-nut mixture.
Bake at 350° for 40 minutes or till done.
Cool slightly; invert on serving plate.
