Christmas Fruit Cake Cookies
|Sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Firmly packed brown sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Shortening||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|All purpose flour||4 Cup (64 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Ground cinnamon||2 Teaspoon|
|Ground nutmeg||1 Teaspoon|
|Ground mace||1 Teaspoon|
|Ground cloves||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Oats||4 Cup (64 tbs), uncooked (Quick-Cooking Or Regular)|
|Pitted dates||8 Ounce, chopped (1 Package)|
|Candied orange peel||2 Ounce, chopped|
|Candied cherries||4 Ounce, chopped|
|Seedless raisins||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Candied lemon peel||2 Ounce, chopped|
|Candied pineapple||4 Ounce, chopped|
|Chopped apples||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Maraschino cherries and juice||5 Ounce (1 Bottle)|
|Nuts||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Cream sugars and shortening.
Add eggs: mix well.
Combine flour, baking powder, salt and spices.
Mix dry ingredients with fruits and nuts.
Add to creamed mixture.
Drop by teaspoonsful onto greased cookie sheets.
Bake at 350° for about 12 minutes, or until brown.
