Christmas Fruit Cake Cookies

Ingredients
  Sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Firmly packed brown sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Shortening 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Eggs 2
  All purpose flour 4 Cup (64 tbs)
  Baking powder 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Ground cinnamon 2 Teaspoon
  Ground nutmeg 1 Teaspoon
  Ground mace 1 Teaspoon
  Ground cloves 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Oats 4 Cup (64 tbs), uncooked (Quick-Cooking Or Regular)
  Pitted dates 8 Ounce, chopped (1 Package)
  Candied orange peel 2 Ounce, chopped
  Candied cherries 4 Ounce, chopped
  Seedless raisins 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Candied lemon peel 2 Ounce, chopped
  Candied pineapple 4 Ounce, chopped
  Chopped apples 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Maraschino cherries and juice 5 Ounce (1 Bottle)
  Nuts 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Directions

Cream sugars and shortening.
Add eggs: mix well.
Combine flour, baking powder, salt and spices.
Add oats.
Mix dry ingredients with fruits and nuts.
Add to creamed mixture.
Mix well.
Drop by teaspoonsful onto greased cookie sheets.
Bake at 350° for about 12 minutes, or until brown.
