Poor Man's Fruit Cake

Ingredients
  Raisins 1 1⁄3 Cup (21.33 tbs)
  Packed brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Lard 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  All purpose flour 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Baking soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Ground cinnamon 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Ground cloves 1⁄2 Teaspoon
Directions

Heat raisins, sugar, lard, and 1 cup water till sugar dissolves and lard melts.
Cool.
Stir together flour, soda, salt, and spices.
Add to lard mixture; beat smooth.
Pour into greased and floured 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2-inch loaf pan.
Bake at 350°for45 to 50 minutes.
Cool in pan.
Wrap; store overnight.
