Lite Marbled Angel Cake
|Angel food cake mix||14 1⁄2 Ounce (1 Box)|
|Cocoa||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (Hershey's)|
|Chocolate glaze||1 Cup (16 tbs) (Adjust Quantity As Needed)|
Adjust oven rack to lowest position.
Heat oven to 375°.
Prepare cake batter according to package directions.
Measure 4 cups batter into separate bowl; gradually fold cocoa into this batter until well blended, being careful not to deflate batter.
Alternately pour vanilla and chocolate batters into ungreased 10-inch tube pan.
Cut through batter with knife or spatula to marble batter.
Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until top crust is firm and looks very dry.
Do not underbake.
Cool, hanging pan upside down on heat-proof funnel or bottle, at least 1 1/2 hours.
Carefully run knife along side of pan to loosen cake.
Place on serving plate; drizzle with Chocolate Glaze.
Chocolate Glaze: In small saucepan bring 1/3 cup sugar and 1/4 cup water to full boil, stirring until sugar dissolves; remove from heat.
Immediately add 1 cup Mini Chips Semi-Sweet Chocolate; stir with wire whisk until chips are melted and mixture is smooth.
Cool to desired consistency; use immediately.
