Apple Cinnamon Cake

Ingredients
  Eggs 3 , separated
  Sugar 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Cinnamon 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Water 2 Tablespoon
  Flour 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Cream of tartar 1⁄4 Teaspoon
Directions

1. Preheat oven to 325° F. Use 8-inch round cake pan with nonstick finish if possible; otherwise, lightly grease and flour one 8-inch cake pan. Place apple slices in pan; set aside.
2. Using electric mixer at medium speed, beat egg yolks, 3 tablespoons of the sugar, the cinnamon, salt and water in medium bowl until foamy and light in color. Gently fold in flour.
3. Using electric mixer at high speed, beat egg whites and cream of tartar in large bowl until soft peaks form. Add remaining sugar; beat 2 minutes longer.
4. Gently fold egg whites into flour mixture; pour over apple slices. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool cake in pan on wire rack for 15 minutes; unmold cake onto serving platter.
