Applesauce Date Cake

Ingredients
  Sifted flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Baking soda 2 Teaspoon
  Ground cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
  Ground allspice 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Ground nutmeg 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Ground cloves 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Eggs 2
  Firmly packed brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Butter 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Hot applesauce 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Chopped dates 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
  Chopped walnuts 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Cream cheese frosting 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Directions

Sift flour with soda, spices and salt.
Add eggs, sugar, butter and 1 cup of the hot applesauce.
Beat until ingredients are combined.
Then beat 2 minutes longer, occasionally scraping sides of bowl.
Add remaining applesauce, the dates and walnuts.
Beat 1 minute.
Pour batter into greased and lightly floured 9" square pan.
Bake in 350° oven 40-50 minutes.
Cool in pan 10 minutes.
Remove from pan and cool on wire rack.
Frost with Cream Cheese Frosting.
