Hoe Cakes

Ingredients
  Water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Yellow cornmeal 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Cooking oil 2 Tablespoon
  Butter/Margarine 1 Tablespoon (adjust quantity as needed)
Directions

In bowl, heat water and salt at HIGH for 3 to 4 minutes or till boiling; gradually stir in commeal.
Divide mixture into 8 portions (about 1/4 cup each).
Shape each portion into a 3-inch round patty.
Meanwhile, preheat Meal Browner browning dish at HIGH for 6 minutes.
Add 1 tablespoon oil.
Add half the hoe cakes.
Cook at HIGH for 1 minute.
Turn cakes.
Cook at HIGH for 1 minute.
Preheat browning dish at HIGH for 3 minutes.
Add remaining tablespoon oil.
Cook remaining cakes at HIGH for 1 minute.
Turn and cook at HIGH for 1 minute.
