Festive Coffee Cake
|Chopped walnuts||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Chopped candied cherries||3 Tablespoon|
|Brown sugar||3 Tablespoon|
|Ground cinnamon||1 Teaspoon|
|Confectioners sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Lemon juice||4 Tablespoon|
|Candied angelica strips||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (Small Strips)|
For the filling mix all the ingredients together and sprinkle over the dough.
For the finish sift the confectioners' sugar and mix with enough lemon juice to give a soft consistency.
Spoon over the top of the baked, cooled coffee cake and allow to run down the sides.
Decorate with chopped walnuts and angelica before the frosting sets.
