Pumpkin Cake

Ingredients
  Shortening 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Cinnamon 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Sugar 1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)
  Ginger 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Eggs 2 , beaten
  Nutmeg 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Flour 2 1⁄4 Cup (36 tbs)
  Pumpkin 1 Cup (16 tbs) (cooked)
  Baking powder 3 Teaspoon
  Milk 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Nuts 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped
Directions

Cream shortening; add sugar; cream together.
Blend in eggs.
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and spices.
Mix pumpkin and milk.
Stir in soda.
Add the flour mixture and the pumpkin-milk mixture alternately to the creamed mixture.
Blend in the nuts.
Pour into tube or layer pans.
Bake at 350° in layer pans for 35 minutes or in tube pan for 55 minutes.
