|Flour||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Granulated sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Baking soda||1 Teaspoon|
|Liquid shortening||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|White vinegar||1 Teaspoon|
|Vanilla extract||1 Teaspoon|
|Water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Combine all ingredients in large mixing bowl.
Beat to blend thoroughly.
Pour batter into 9 in. (23 cm) square baking pan.
Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 to 30 minutes or until cake tests done.
