|Sugar||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Shortening||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Milk||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Baking powder||2 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Vanilla extract||1 Teaspoon|
|Almond extract||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
2. Into large bowl, measure all ingredients. With mixer at low speed, beat ingredients until well mixed, constantly scraping bowl with rubber spatula. Increase speed to high; beat 2 minutes, occasionally scraping bowl. Pour batter into pans. Bake 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean. Cool layers in pans on wire racks 10 minutes. Remove from pans; cool completely on racks.
