Date Crumble Cake
|Fresh dates||350 Gram, pitted (2 Cups)|
|Soft margarine||100 Gram (8 Tablespoon)|
|Sugar||100 Gram (1/2 Cup)|
|Vanilla extract||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Whole-wheat flour||175 Gram (Generous 1 Cup)|
|Rolled oats||100 Gram (Generous 1 Cup)|
Grease a 9-inch (23-cm) springform cake pan.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Finely chop dates.
Cream margarine, sugar and vanilla in a medium bowl until pale and fluffy.
Gradually add flour, salt and oats; mix with fingertips until crumbly.
Spread half the oat mixture over bottom of greased cake pan.
Press mixture down into pan, raising sides slightly.
Spread dates over oat mixture; crumble remaining mixture over top.
Bake 45 to 50 minutes or until lightly browned.
Let cool slightly in pan then remove from pan and serve warm.
