Quick Carob Cake
|Sifted cake mix||3 1⁄4 Cup (52 tbs)|
|Eggs||4 , separated|
|Honey||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Water||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
|Vanilla extract||2 Teaspoon|
|Basic carob syrup||3 Tablespoon|
|Cream of tartar||1⁄8 Teaspoon|
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Butter a 2-piece tube pan.
In a large bowl, beat together cake mix, egg yolks, honey, water, and vanilla, and beat for 2 minutes.
Beat in carob syrup.
In a medium-size bowl, beat together egg whites and cream of tartar.
Fold into carob mixture.
Turn into prepared pan, and bake on middle shelf of oven for 40 to 45 minutes, or until a cake tester or food pick inserted into cake comes out clean.
Cool in pan 10 minutes.
Run knife around tube and edge of pan, and turn cake out onto a wire rack to cool.
