Devil'S Food Cake With Buttermilk
|Cake flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Sugar||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Buttermilk||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
|Shortening||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Baking soda||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Vanilla extract||1 Teaspoon|
|Baking powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Unsweetened chocolate||3 Squares, melted|
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
2. Into large bowl, measure all ingredients; with mixer at low speed, beat until mixed, constantly scraping bowl. Increase speed to high; beat 2 minutes, occasionally scraping bowl. Pour batter into pans. Bake 25 to 30 minutes, until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pans on racks 10 minutes. Remove from pans; cool completely on racks.
