Devil's Food Cake

Ingredients
  Sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Shortening 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Egg 1
  Hot water 2⁄3
  Flour 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Unsweetened cocoa 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Baking soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Vanilla 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Baking powder 1⁄4 Teaspoon
Directions

Cream sugar and shortening in large bowl with electric mixer.
Add egg and water.
Stir in remaining ingredients and blend until smooth.
Pour batter into greased 8 or 9-inch round dish bottom lined with wax paper.
Cook at LOW 6 minutes and at MEDIUM-HIGH 3 to 4 minutes, or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean.
Let stand 15 minutes.
Invert cake from dish; peel off wax paper.
Cool completely.
Store covered.
