Home Made Gingerbread Waffles
|Butter/Margarine||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Firmly packed dark brown sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (Along With Light Molasses)|
|Light molasses||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (Along With Firmly Packed Dark Brown Sugar)|
|Eggs||2 , separated|
|Milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|All purpose flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Ground ginger||1 Teaspoon|
|Ground cloves||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
Cream together the butter or margarine and brown sugar; beat in the molasses, egg yolks, and milk.
Sift flour (it isn't necessary to sift instant-type flour), measure, sift with the baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt.
Beat egg whites until soft peaks form.
Stir dry ingredients into creamed mixture, then fold in beaten egg whites.
Pour batter into preheated waffle baker and bake until lightly browned.
