Velvety Chocolate Cake
|Buttermilk||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Baking soda||1 Teaspoon|
|All purpose flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Sugar||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Butter/Margarine||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Cocoa||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Eggs||2 , beaten|
|Velvety chocolate frosting||1 Cup (16 tbs) (adjust quantity as needed)|
Combine buttermilk and soda.
Combine flour, sugar, and salt.
Combine butter, water, and cocoa in a saucepan; bring to a boil.
Pour over flour mixture; cool.
Add eggs and buttermilk mixture; mix well.
Pour into 2 greased and floured 8-inch round cakepans.
Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans and cool on wire racks.
Spread with warm Velvety Chocolate Frosting.
