Plain Pecan Cake
|Pecans||3 Cup (48 tbs), ground up|
|Shortening||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Sugar||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Flour||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Baking powder||3 Teaspoon|
|Vanilla||1 1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Milk||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
Cream shortening, sugar and egg yolks together.
Beat egg whites stiff and fold into cake mixture.
Pour into tube pan and bake at 350° for 1 1/2 hours.
