Sift dry ingredients together and cut in shortening.
Beat egg and mix with milk.
Combine milk and egg mixture with dry ingredients.
Spread half the batter in a greased baking pan.
Sprinkle half of the filling on batter.
Add the rest of the batter and sprinkle with remaining filling.
Bake at 375 degrees for thirty minutes.
