New Fudge Cake
|Flour||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs), sifted|
|Sugar||1 1⁄3 Cup (21.33 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Baking soda||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Vegetable shortening||3 Tablespoon|
|Milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Unsweetened chocolate||3 Ounce, melted (About 3 Pieces)|
|Chopped nuts||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
Lightly grease and flour two 8 inch, heat-resistant, non-metallic round baking dishes.
In a large bowl, blend together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Add shortening, milk and vanilla.
Beat 2 minutes at medium speed of electric mixer.
Scrape sides and bottom of bowl frequently.
Add egg and chocolate.
Beat 2 additional minutes.
Stir in nuts.
Pour batter into prepared dishes.
Heat each layer separately, uncovered, on roast for 8 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Frost with favorite icing
