Poppy Seed Orange Or Lemon Cake With Glaze
|Oil||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Orange/Lemon||1 Medium, rind grated to 6 tablespoon, reserve 1 tablespoon for garnish|
|Milk||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sour cream||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Flour||2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 Tablespoon|
|Poppy seed||4 Tablespoon|
Beat together oil, orange, milk, sour cream, eggs and sugar until blended.
Stir together flour, baking powder and poppy seed and beat until dry ingredients are nicely blended.
Do not overbeat.
Spread batter evenly into a 10 inch tube pan and bake at 350Â° for about 50 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean.
Allow cake to cool in pan.
When cool, remove and drizzle top with glaze (use lemon, orange or almond glaze).
