Quick Apple Coffee Cake

Ingredients
  Sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Butter 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), softened
  Egg 1
  Milk 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Flour 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs), sifted
  Baking powder 2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
  Sugar 2 Tablespoon
Directions

In a large mixing bowl, blend together sugar, butter and egg.
Beat until thoroughly blended.
Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
Stir milk into sugar-butter-egg mixture.
Add dry ingredients to milk mixture and stir until thoroughly blended.
Spread batter into an 8-inch square, heat resistant, non-metallic baking dish.
Arrange apple slices in a design on top, pressing them slightly into the batter.
Combine cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl and sprinkle on top of apple slices.
Heat, covered with clear plastic wrap, on roast for 8 minutes.
Uncover and heat on roast for 6 to 7 minutes or until apples are tender and wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
