Favorite Butterscotch Cake

This Favorite Butterscotch Cake is a wonderful recipe to serve to your family and friends. Sometimes I feel amazed about the ease at which I whip up this Favorite Butterscotch Cake; it gives out so inviting that anyone would fall for it. Believe me, this Favorite Butterscotch Cake is worth trying!
Ingredients
  Sifted cake flour 2 Cup (32 tbs) (Swans Down)
  Baking powder 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon (Calumet)
  Baking soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Shortening 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Firmly packed brown sugar 1 1⁄3 Cup (21.33 tbs)
  Milk 14 Tablespoon
  Vanilla 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Eggs 2 , unbeaten
Directions

Combine flour, baking powder, soda, and salt in sifter.
Stir shortening just to soften.
Sift in flour mixture.
Add brown sugar.
Add the milk and vanilla and mix until all flour is dampened.
Beat 2 minutes at a low speed of electric mixer or 300 vigorous strokes by hand.
Add eggs; beat 1 minute longer in mixer or 150 strokes by hand.
Pour batter into two 8-inch layer pans which have been lined on bottoms with paper.
Bake in moderate oven (375°F.) 20 to 25 minutes.
Frost, with Quick Caramel Frosting or Sea Foam Frosting
