Ornamental Icing For Fruit Cake
|Crisco||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Icing sugar||4 Cup (64 tbs)|
|Egg whites||2 (Unbeaten)|
|Almond flavoring||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Cream of tartar||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
Cut shortening into icing sugar until it is a fine meal.
Add unbeaten egg whites, flavourings, salt, cream of tartar.
Beat well until frosting is smooth.
Blend in glycerine.
Use unbeaten egg white on top of fruit cake before putting on almond paste.
This is not a hard icing.
