Coffee Layer Cake
|Margarine||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Brown sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Baking powder||3 Teaspoon|
|Cold coffee||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Unsulphured molasses||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|All purpose flour||2 Cup (32 tbs), sifted|
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Cream margarine, add sugar gradually, continue creaming until mixture is light and fine grained.
Add egg yolks.
Beat until light and fluffy.
Stir in molasses.
Mix and sift the dry ingredients, adding 1/2 cup to the molasses mixture and the remainder alternately with the cold coffee.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
Bake in two greased 8 inch layer pans in moderate oven for about 25 minutes.
When cool, fill and frost Fluffy Mocha Frosting.
