Calling all chocolate cake lovers! This Guinness chocolate cake is a very impressive dessert paired with silky smooth brown butter cream cheese frosting. It is very easy to make and perfect for St. Patrick's Day!

Cocoa powder | 3/4 Cup (12 tbs) | |

Natural yogurt | 2/3 Cup (10.67 tbs) ((can use Greek yogurt, buttermilk or sour cream as a substitute)) | |
Vanilla extract | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Baking soda | 2 1/2 Teaspoon | |
All | purpose flour | |
For the frosting: | ||
Unsalted butter | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) ((4 tablespoon)) | |
Cream cheese | 5 Ounce ((135 g)) | |
Powdered sugar | 2 1/2 Cup (40 tbs) | |
Vanilla extract | 1 Teaspoon |
GETTING READY:
Preheat oven to 350°F/ 180°C.
Grease pan with butter.
MAKING:
In a saucepan, combine butter, guinness and heat with occasional stirring. Cook until butter melts completely.
Transfer to bowl and add sugar, cocoa and stir well.
In another bowl, beat egg, yogurt and vanilla. Add this egg mixture to Guinness mixture.
Add baking soda, flour and stir until the flour incorporates well.
Pour the mixture into baking pan and pop into oven. Bake for 45-60 minutes. Allow to cool completely.
For frosting, heat a saucepan and melt butter in it. Swirl the pan for butter to coat well.
After 5-8 minutes allow to turn into golden colour. Ensure not to burn it.
Transfer to a bowl, allow to cool well and add cream cheese. Once its smooth, beat in sugar and vanilla. Stir gently.
Pour over cake and spread as shown in the video.
